ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study is to provide a better understanding of the protocols for restarting tourism considered as an international prior action plan, and to present an academic output supporting the development of pandemic immunity. In this direction, the global guidelines of United Nations World Tourism Organization dated 28 May 2020 and new-normal protocols of World Travel and Tourism Council dated 29 May 2020 were translated into Turkish and subjected to content analysis. The entire analysis process, from coding to Sankey diagram creation, conducted via ATLAS.ti - v.22.1.4.0, a computer-aided qualitative data analysis software. Among the results;the role in restarting tourism and the aspects of developing pandemic immunity of implementing hygiene-oriented innovative practices even if they will require changes in the organizational chart, prioritizing coordination, communication and cooperation not only in the steps taken by the government and businesses but also by the other interested parties, making the dynamism within the internal processes brought about by the turbulent conditions efficient and standardized via the adoption of protocols establishing a specific business manner and procedure are stand out. (English) [ FROM AUTHOR] Çalışmanın amacı;uluslararası nitelikteki turizmi yeniden başlatma protokollerinin detaylı bir şekilde incelenerek somutlaştırılmasıdır. Böylece benzer krizlerin şok etkisini kısaltan, eyleme geçme sürecini daha etkili ve hızlı kılan bir pandemi bağışıklığının geliştirilmesine katkı sağlanması hedeflenmektedir. Bu doğrultuda, Türkçeye çevrilmiş olan Birleşmiş Milletler Dünya Turizm Örgütü'nün 28 Mayıs 2020 tarihli küresel yönergesi ile Dünya Seyahat ve Turizm Konseyi'nin 29 Mayıs 2020 tarihli yeni-normal protokolleri içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Kodlama işleminden Sankey diyagramı oluşturmaya kadar tüm analiz süreci, bilgisayar destekli bir nitel veri analiz yazılımı olan ATLAS.ti - v.22.1.4.0 vasıtasıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçlar arasından;örgüt şemasında değişimleri gerektirecek olsa dahi hijyen odaklı inovatif uygulamaların hayata geçirilmesinin, yalnızca hükümetin ve işletmelerin değil;diğer ilgili tarafların atacağı adımlarda da koordinasyonun, iletişimin ve iş birliğinin öncelikli olarak değerlendirilmesinin, çalkantılı koşulların işletme içi süreçlerde meydana getirdiği olumsuzlukların protokollerin benimsenmesi aracılığıyla standardize edilmesinin ve verimli kılınmasının, turizmin yeniden başlatılmasındaki rolü ve pandemi bağışıklığını geliştirici yönleri ön plana çıkmaktadır. ABSTRACT

PurposeThis viewpoint paper aims to discuss sustainable digitalisation of facilities management (FM) through the implementation of the newly recognised International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards within the ISO 41000 series.Design/methodology/approachThis viewpoint paper provides a review of the literature of the recent ISO documents and academic study. The content is also dependent on the authors' opinions and interpretation.FindingsFM is currently shifting emphasis towards a strategic focus through the adoption of the new recognised international ISO standards that consider sustainable digitalisation in business decisions. However, the FM sector is encountering potential risks to the implementation of the new recognised international ISO standards. Digitalisation is one kind of force that has shaped the management of the built environment and FM recently and rapidly, especially in the Covid-19 period. This is impacting the FM industry. As standardisation aims at establishing a constantly evolving baseline of proven practices, standardisation can be considered a part of sustainable FM. It is believed that standardised and strategic level support is crucial for the smooth adoption of sustainable FM practices and processes. Standards such as the ISO standards, applied to the global FM industry, help in objectively quantifying the added value of FM to the core business. Advanced technology and digitalisation can contribute to the sustainability of any profession and industry, but it also requires a community to tackle the problems.Originality/valueThis paper contributes to the FM industry by making recommendations for improvement in the use of digitalisation. In summary, the significant finding of this viewpoint paper is that digitalisation offers both possibilities and problems in the application of the new recognised international ISO standards within the FM industry.

ABSTRACT

Supply chains are important components in terms of effective production, service management, as well as the ability of businesses to fulfill their objectives and to compete. Especially the effective, economical and efficient operation of this structure provides cost advantage and increases customer satisfaction. However, some structural problems arise in terms of fulfilling the supply chain at the desired level, and these problems affect businesses negatively. In this study, it has been aimed to rate the supply chain management structural problems in the hazelnut firms in Giresun during the Covid 19 pandemic. Spherical fuzzy analytical hierarchy method, one of the Multi Criteria Decision Making methods, has been used in solving supply chain structural problems.

ABSTRACT

Background: Simulation methodology and frameworks were used to build teamwork and a safety culture, and to establish efficient clinical services within the procedure centre of a newly constructed, stand-alone, fully digital greenfield hospital. Rapid ramp up of surgical services required significant recruitment, and onboarding necessitated training of nursing and other perioperative support staff. Methods: A two-day, immersive integrated simulation activity was carried out with the interprofessional onboarding staff participating in their usual roles. During the simulation, staff had the opportunity to apply newly acquired skills and knowledge to all stages of a patient's clinical journey through the procedure centre, including use of the integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) and non-technicaL skills. Results: Department processes and workflows were rehearsed in real time before the procedure centre opened to patients. A safe environment was created for staff with formal prebriefing and debriefing delivered at the commencement and conclusion of the simulation activity. Discussion: The integrated simulations reduced uncertainty and streamlined service delivery for staff who participated in the training, with simulations also used to foster interprofessional team training for clinical workflows. The simulation process allowed interprofessional teams (e.g. nurses, support staff, surgeons) to interact with one another prior to the facility opening.
